As I always do when I have commission to paint custom mural or Trompe l’Oeil for business or a private residence, I met with the owner of that weight loss clinic in Clearwater, Florida. He wanted to have a painting done at the reception-waiting area. After our meeting I sketched my ideas for that space and later -during our second meeting that sketch was approved by my client. As we discussed – I painted that Trompe l’Oeil on canvas. The reason why it was not directly on the wall, was that if the owner would sell his clinic, he would want to take off my painting from the wall and take it with him to be installed or stretched and framed to be in his house. On the photo above is the final moments of installation of my painting on canvas. On the photo below – close up of detail.

Children portrait from a small photo reference. Gift for a grandmother.

This is another commission – portraits of 2 grandchildren which I painted from a photo. Below is the photo of them on the beach next to my portraits. It was a surprise-gift for grandmother of those children. Let me know if you have ideas for a gift like that for your grandparents . Contact me at inspire2me@gmail.com

New portrait. Little girl from the past. Tampa, Florida

“Girl with green eyes and long lushes”. New portrait-commission in 2021. I painted that portrait from black/white old photo of my clients. The reference photo was old photo in black/white from many years ago. I had to “guess” the colors of the skin, lips, hair, dress, etc. But during our first meeting I took a photo of the green eyes of my client – now a grown up beautiful woman. Because the photo was black & white painting portrait in color was challenging. But very creative and joyful to me.

My goal when I paint a portrait is to capture the beauty and the spirit of the person. That portrait was a result of a special collaboration of her husband and myself for her big Birthday party. On that photo – Just a few steps from many of creating a portrait.
