Paining children is a blessing to me. Beauty of their pure emotions always brings joy to our hearts. One of the question I am asked when somebody wants to commission a child portrait is : How do you make a child sit for you when you paint their portrait? The answer is that it is practically impossible, simply because they cannot keep a straight face or hold a pose for a long time. But no worries, all the portraits of children I painted – I used photographs as reference. Usually I study several photos of a child. And as in all portraits which I paint, my goal is to capture the beauty of personality and emotions of a child at one particular moment in life.
