From sketch to complete painting-Trompe l’Oeil for a niche. One of my clients had a flat niche in the entrance of their house. So I suggested a Trompe l’Ooeil painting which would create 3D illusion in that niche. They wanted to see in that painting a vase with sunflowers mixed with blue and other flowers. I worked on my painting of “Life, Love and Restaurant” and introducing here detail of a new version of it. That painting is about two owners of the restaurant “Alfano’s” in Clearwater Florida. After I came back from Salon I realized that I have a better reference photo of Linda – where she looks straight at us. In the original version Linda looks at Frank – I thought that it was a good composition. But then it does not show Linda’s beautiful character and smile everyone loves. On that photo – detail of a new version of my painting . I rushed a little to finish that portrait before Salon 2021 and to get ready for my master class at Salon and demonstration. I made that composition not from a real place photo – but from my client’s ideas of what they want to see in the dining room. I added a fruit bowl to add Trompe l’Oeil effect. That photo was in my studio. Later on mural was installed with paste onto the wall by professional wall paper installers. Mural for a wall for the client’s dining room: Amalfi coast, Italy.
