As we look back at history, we all know that to become a professional artist for women has always been much more challenging than for men. So, in my youth, even though I knew that art is my passion, I got a master’s degree in computer science, and worked for several years as consultant-programmer for big corporations. Job was paid well, but I always missed my creativity, my paints and brushes. So at some point I became brave and persistent to follow my passion in art. I took more art classes in Italy and the USA and started my business.
In the early years of her artist life Tatiana painted in watercolors and oils. Many of her contemporary paintings are done in Oils and Acrylics or mixed media. Favorite styles and subjects are Trompe l’Oeil and Portraits. The main goal of Tatiana Rugers when working on portraits is not exact photographic copy but capturing the essence of the person or subject, emotions and beauty of the heart and spirit. In her view that is what separates art from a photograph. Although there are some great photographers who create incredibly talented and artistic photos.
